Looks from Detroit’s next generation of designers at CCS’s The Show 2026.
Detroit's next great designers just had their runway moment. The College for Creative Studies presented The Show 2026, its annual fashion showcase, sending more than 100 looks from junior and senior apparel and accessories students down a runway at the Somerset Collection Skywalk.
The work was unmistakably Detroit. Students pulled from the Iraqi immigrant history along the Seven Mile corridor, the city's automotive legacy, and the origins of techno, then built those references into garments using both old-school craftsmanship and tools like 3D printing and laser cutting. Heritage and new technology, stitched into the same collection.

That mix is the whole point. These are not students copying a coast, they are translating their own city, its immigrants, its factories, its music, into clothes. That is what separates a designer with a point of view from one chasing a trend, and it is a lesson most people learn far later than school.
It is also a pipeline worth watching. The fashion names a city becomes known for start as students somewhere, and Detroit training its own, in its own creative language, means the next wave does not have to leave to be taken seriously.
This is the earliest chapter of what ANF covers. Before the label, before the following, there is a student with a vision and one runway to show it. Detroit just gave a hundred of them that runway.
