The first performance basketball shoe built specifically for women. She made it.

Natalie White grew up around basketball and noticed something nobody in the industry seemed to care about: every basketball shoe she could buy was designed for a man's foot. Women hoopers were expected to squeeze into scaled-down versions of men's shoes and just deal with it. A New York native and finance major at Boston College, she decided that was a product problem, not a fact of life.

So she built the shoe that did not exist. White founded Moolah Kicks and created a performance basketball sneaker engineered specifically for women's feet, the first of its kind, treating female athletes as a market worth designing for rather than an afterthought.

The idea drew serious backing. Moolah Kicks picked up investment from Mark Cuban and landed on the shelves of hundreds of Dick's Sporting Goods stores, putting a women-first basketball brand into mainstream retail where none had existed before.

"The shoe for women hoopers did not exist. So she built it herself."

The easy read was that women's basketball was too small a market to design for. White saw the opposite: a market that had simply never been served, and built the product to prove it was there. Whole categories get overlooked because no one bothers to build for them.

This is the founder instinct ANF loves to spotlight. When an industry treats people like an afterthought, build the thing that finally puts them first.

They told her to wear the men's shoe. She made her own.
