His age when he became an AI research engineer. He co-founded Depict.ai two years later.

Oliver Edholm was doing serious work before most people finish high school. At 15, he was already an AI research engineer at Klarna, one of Europe's biggest payment companies, learning the field at a level that usually takes a graduate degree to reach. He treated being young as irrelevant to whether the work was good.

Then he built his own thing. At 17, in 2019, Edholm co-founded Depict.ai with Anton Osika, going after a clear gap: the powerful product-recommendation AI that giant retailers use to boost sales was out of reach for everyone smaller. Depict set out to hand that same technology to independent and mid-sized shops.

Investors backed the bet. Depict.ai raised a 17 million dollar Series A, funding a teenager's plan to level the playing field between small retailers and the Amazons of the world.

"He mastered AI at 15, then used it to arm the retailers the giants left behind."

Edholm could have ridden his head start straight into a comfortable role at a big company. Instead he used it to build for the underdog, taking a capability hoarded by giants and handing it to the small players. A head start is most valuable when you spend it widening the field.

This is the near-future founder ANF keeps spotlighting. Take the advantage you built early and use it to arm the people the giants ignore.

He learned it young. Then he gave it to everyone the giants forgot.
