Joshua Thomas is building more than a clothing line. With One Faith Apparel, the Detroit founder gives believers a way to express their faith when words fall short, turning a personal conviction into a movement that has already traveled well beyond Metro Detroit.
Who are you, and what are you building right now?
"My name is Joshua Thomas and I am building up not only a brand but a community of people who want to express their faith through more than words. Not everyone is able to express their belief in Christianity verbally, which is why I created One Faith Apparel."
What was the moment you decided to actually go for it?
"Around 3 to 4 years ago, when I realized not only did I have a passion for what I do, I was good at it and it reached a bigger audience than I expected. Once I truly saw that the Lord was by my side in this, I knew it was go time."

What does Metro Detroit mean to your work?
"Metro Detroit means so much to my work because it played a huge part in inspiring it. If it weren't for this community, the faith that they instilled in me wouldn't be expressed back out to everyone else. And I have been blessed enough that my expression has been able to move even further than Metro Detroit."
What's something people your age get wrong about what you do?
"Most people my age see One Faith Apparel as another side hustle or a money making opportunity for another Black teenager. It is so much bigger than that. One Faith Apparel is a movement, a movement that allows believers to wear their faith out loud and not compromise their style. A lot of people look past the One Faith and focus on the Apparel."

What's next? What does the near future look like for you?
"Hopefully, I'm able to keep expanding the brand and allowing others like me to share their faith across the globe. In the near future, I see more people wearing One Faith than ever before and I pray that the Lord continues to guide me along this amazing journey."
