Of Gen Z business owners already use AI or automation
The solo founder just got a team. 64% of Gen Z business owners already lean on AI or automation to handle the repetitive work of running a company, from bookkeeping and scheduling to content, customer service, and design.
That number matters more than it looks. The biggest thing between a young person with an idea and an actual business has always been capacity. One person can only do so much, and hiring costs money most first-time founders don't have. AI quietly removes that ceiling. A single builder with the right tools now moves like a company of five.
"The leverage that used to require a payroll now fits in a browser tab."
This is the great equalizer nobody announced. A 19-year-old running a brand out of their bedroom can now produce, respond, and operate at a level that used to require a small staff and a real budget. The gap between an idea and a functioning business keeps shrinking.
It's worth being honest about the flip side. AI is also coming for entry-level jobs, which is part of why so many young people are choosing to build for themselves in the first place. If the safe path is getting automated, the case for betting on your own thing gets stronger, not weaker.
For the young founders ANF covers, this is leverage they should be using. The builders who win the next few years won't be the ones with the biggest teams. They'll be the ones who learned to run lean, letting the tools handle the busywork so they can spend their hours on the thing only they can do.
The team of one was always a myth. Now it's a real business model.
