Keep
Showing Up.

KilzTheDon  ·  Executive Producer, 100K Entertainment  ·  Detroit

KilzTheDon has been in the room long enough to know the room does not fill up overnight. An executive producer and the mind behind 100K Entertainment, a full service company running video and music promotion, YouTube placement, online content marketing, and content development, he is also a student at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. For the first entry in The Blueprint, he breaks down the lessons that live underneath the work.

What do you wish someone had told you when you started?

"Everything isn't going to always pop off as fast as we want it to. Nothing is overnight."

What's the part of building that nobody warns you about?

"The sacrifice of not having time spent with family or friends, but just straight locking in and focusing all on you and the brand."

What is this generation getting right, and where do you worry for them?

"Mental health awareness is one thing this generation is getting right. Where I worry is more of the social media influences distracting the mind."

"Your network is your net worth."

What would you tell someone building in Detroit with no network and no cosign?

"Your network is your net worth. Best thing to do is get outside and put your brand in people's faces, no matter how crazy it sounds."

If you could pass down one principle that's kept you standing, what is it?

"Keep showing up, especially when you don't feel like it."

"Keep showing up, especially when you don't feel like it."
